Consultation
Consider a free 30-minute consultation with Abby. This is an opportunity for those who want to share their concerns and then decide if starting with Abby is the right fit for you or your child.
EF Assessment
In order to get to the core of it, a comprehensive assessment is necessary using a video conferencing platform. Please be prepared to provide any outside speech and language evaluations for a record review, respond to questionnaires, and have a meaningful discussion around the challenges you are facing with Executive Dysfunction. If you have not considered or completed testing in your child’s school, Abby will educate you on your rights as a parent and assist you with how to request testing. Testing is an integral part of a completed plan of care. The assessment period will also take time to identify team members, the areas of difficulty, and guide goals.
CRCI Therapy
“Chemo brain”, also known as, Cancer-Related Cognitive Impairment (CRCI) can happen after chemotherapy treatment. If you are experiencing trouble in the areas of memory, focus, word finding, and/or having problems with planning, organizing, and multitasking, there is help. We can improve these cognitive functions to enhance your quality of life. Sessions are educational, therapeutic, and supportive and will enable you to live with increased independence and freedom.
EF Coaching
Children/Teens & Adults
With the mind-body connection being so important to Abby, she incorporates an holistic approach to coaching and therapy. You can expect sessions to begin with deep breathing to help manage any anxiety and/or recenter ourselves. Coaching is available through video conferencing so families can access support remotely, making it a flexible option for individuals. This also allows Abby to provide guided support with more consistent check ins. The partnership between coach and client allows us to work together as partners in an environment that is both safe and trusting. Abby encourages her clients to take the active role as this gives a sense of autonomy to develop measurable and achievable goals in everyday life. When you develop self awareness and strategies that work for you, you are more confident and skilled to truly show what you know.
Advocacy
We know that EF skills are critical to a child’s future success and are more of a predictor than IQ or socio-economic status. Given the above, Abby offers consulting contracts in school systems for ongoing support. This contract would offer regular meetings, teacher training, student workshops, and tailored programming.

An overview of Executive Functioning (EF)
Executive Functioning (EF) is a cluster of cognitive skills rooted in prefrontal structures of frontal lobe. It includes ability to anticipate consequences, generate novel ideas and solutions, initiate appropriate actions, and monitor ongoing success or failure. Executive Functions are higher-level cognitive process that help with goal-directed behavior and self regulation. The key pillars of EF include: Inhibition (self-control), Working Memory (capacity to hold and manipulate information over short periods of time), and Cognitive Flexibility (ability to adapt to changing circumstances, switch between tasks or think about multiple concepts simultaneously). These 3 pillars form the foundation of how we manage tasks, make decisions, control behavior, and adapt to new situations. Strong EF is essential for success in both adults and children in their personal, educational, and professional contexts. People with weak EF might be experiencing: trouble following directions, difficulty remembering sequences, strained emotional control, difficulty in focusing and sustaining attention, struggle with planning and prioritizing, difficulty sensing the passage of time/using time efficiently.
If you are experiencing executive dysfunction, also known as weak EF, it might be impacting your productivity, relationships, and well-being. Abby is available to help coach children, teens and adults improve EF through: time management techniques, organizational strategies, cognitive behavioral approaches to handle distractions, goal-setting and planning frameworks. Coaching is personalized and tailored to one’s needs so that we can focus on practical strategies to help individuals stay on track and manage the demands of everyday life.
